New journal entry says whut

Tue Oct 6, 2009, 7:57 PM
Hi to regulars and newcomers! Yes, yes, newcomers coming from facebook or who were attracted by the awesome new pictures I've put up. (I don't believe so much in modesty)

I thought I'd write a new journal entry talking about stuff, art stuff, life stuff, that kind of things. It's been awhile, I know. I never know what to write about here since I dump most of my thinking on my lj or with clever statuses on facebook (my latest being on how awesome Zombieland is - awesome not even beginning to cover how great it really is).

I've realized a few days ago that it has been ages since I've drawn a comic - since the beginning of the University semester, to be exact. I keep thinking about stories to draw about, and my friends keep on doing things that would be hilarious on comic, but I simply do not have the time to do them. That explains why there are no new comics. I guess that I'll draw new ones during my semester break :/ this kind of sucks, but studying takes all my concentration. On the plus side, I'm starting to get really good in grammar - when I don't forget it all.

If you watch my gallery or just randomly happened to be on my profile page, you might have noticed the weird and creepy pictures of zombies. No, I haven't done them because of Zombieland, but we (Carl, Sindie and I) will definitely need to do another one because Carl said that the movie inspired him for some stuff. Aaanyway, I have to thank my friend Isa (reineiza.deviantart.com) for lending me her tripod which proved itself to be VERY useful. I also need to thank my models (even though they were way enthousiastic about being zombies :D)

The idea of the photoshoot was in my head for a very long time, but we were able to do it only this week-end, and I must say I'm really proud of the work we've done. It was my first time as a photographer - I won't say professional - and I feel like this activity suits me. It doesn't feel like I'm bad at it, I do think I still have a way to go, but I think that they are good horror pictures. That said, PLEASE, if you have comments to do on them, don't hesitate! I still need to edit like 20 other pictures so some of them will probably end up on my gallery.

We have another idea for a photoshoot but it'll be around Christmas. I'm probably getting a tripod for xmas so it'll be easier to take more pictures of, well, stuff. I don't know if I'll do a journal entry soon, but yeah.

EDIT : Guys, I'm on the school computers right now and, looking at the pictures of the recent zombie photoshoot, I realized that they all look way too dark. On my computer (and most of my friends';), they look perfectly fine. Let's take the fourth and sixth pictures as an example : on this computer you can't see shit, but on the fourth one, you're supposed to see a white and creepy face in the middle of the picture. On the sixth one, you're supposed to see two "zombies" under the staircase. The fact that I can't see them well here worries me ; I wouldn't have posted them if they were all black and I hope they show up well on your computer screens.

you have a very nice style going on here. I like how you use markers for a lot of your stuff. Nicely done :) and thanks for the stop by my dinky page.

We can forgive a man for making a useful thing as long as he does not admire it. The only excuse for making a useless thing is that one admires it intensely.
Art is quite useless.
